I'm so sick of titles
So another summer begins. Wedding season has begun again as well.
I was a groomsmen in a wedding for my friend Scott. It was a really good wedding and I'm happy for him. I'm not so happy for my bank account though as being a groomsmen is one of the more expensive things in life. I spent $40 bucks on the bachelor party (which consisted of laser-tag and dinner). I spent $114 on my tux and about $30 on gas. The dinner of the bachelor party was basically a bunch of pre-, mid and post-moody students and me talking about what every moody student talks about at a bachelor party: sex...and theology. We spent about 45% of the time talking about sex, 50% talking about theology (sometimes about "leaving and cleaving") and 5% talking about how good the chicken was at the restaurant that we were at. I basically sat there somewhat bored with the debate on how "liberal" the (insert random acronym of any denomination here) has become. At one point they were trying to remember the name of a speaker that came to moody who "everyone would know" and that turned out to be crazy due to his beliefs ("he was even Arminian!"). These discussions were continued during the rehearsal dinner (Priscilla is my witness) and then during the reception itself.
Oh yeah, I spent $10 on a gift for Scott for the bachelor party. I have to say that that was the most awkward purchase I have ever made. I didn't have any cash with me so when I went up to the 7-11 clerk with two whip cream canisters, condoms and some type of blue pill I paid with credit. It took what seemed like 15 minutes to approve my card with the 7-11 guy looking at me a little weird. Bah. But all in all it was a fun time. The wedding turned out really good and I didn't mess up and fall over or trip or laugh or anything like that.
I am also out of school finally. Yes it is true. Now I can work full time and make up the money I lost on this wedding and pay it all to my school. Yes. This is fun.
